“The Winter Show kicks off our season at the Southampton Cultural Center,” stated board member Paul Dempsey. “Our shows are always well represented, and we will be introducing a number of new members.”

Oils, acrylics, mixed media, sculptures and photography will be on display from nearly 30 local East End artists, all of which are members of SAA. This year’s Winter Art Show will boast beautiful pieces by Charles Damga, Paul Dempsey, Adriana Echavarria, Joe Giaquinto, Dave Johns, Dom Lamontanaro, Danielle Leef, Pat McGrath, Galina Melnik, Russell Mercier, Pamela Morrison, Neva Setlow, James Slezak, Pamela Thomson and Maureen Travers.

“Most of all the works are for sale, including many bin items at reasonable prices,” noted SAA board member Danielle Leef.

The Winter Art Show marks the first of four annual shows that the not for profit artists association presents at SCC, including a Memorial Day Show, Labor Day Show and Fall Art Show in November. SAA is also responsible for a collective members show at the Town Hall in Southampton in December and January, as well as the July Art in the Park outdoor art fine show held at Agawam Park in Southampton.

Members, who reside on the eastern end of Long Island, include both professional and amateur artists. “Our Association is over 30 years old and seeks to sponsor and help enhance the cultural of art in the local area,” notes board member James Slezak. “Southampton Artists Association serves as a point of contact for individuals with questions about the art activities in our area via our website.”

An opening reception will be held on Saturday, February 23 from 5 to 7 p.m., while the closing reception will take place on Friday, March 1 from 5 to 7 p.m. Admission to both is free and many of the artists will be onsite to chat about their works.

Southampton Cultural Center is located at 25 Pond Lane in Southampton. For more information, visit southamptonartists.org.
