Linda Davison Mathues is an accomplished and award winning artist, with a studio in East Quogue, NY. She attributes her glowing work in color to the great Impressionists like Claude Monet and Pierre Bonnard. A passion for color is the thread that runs through everything she creates with oils, watercolor and pastels. It’s the scintillation and vibration between colors that is most exciting. The artist earned a BS degree in Art Ed, with continued studies at The Cape Cod School of Art. Linda is an avid Plein Air painter and her portfolio includes work from Provence France, the Greek Isles, Ghost Ranch, NM, Hawaii, the American Southwest and the New England Coast.
La Paloma Fine Art Gallery in Superior AZ is currently showing Linda’s work.
In September 2019 she exhibited fifty-six paintings and presented an Art Talk at The Hampton Bays Library. Linda was juried into 2018 Arizona Pastel Artists Association‘s National Exhibit in Sedona and won two merchandise awards. You may see her painting locally with the PALS ~ Plein Air Limner Society, celebrating the beauty of our Long Island. The Quogue Wildlife Refuge is a favorite spot.
Linda conducts classes, demos, workshops and loves sharing her expertise. She conducts painting parties at The Reboli Center for Art & History in Stonybrook. These events raise funds to honor and continue the legacy of artist Joe Reboli, one of Long Island’s most important and beloved artists.
