Luciana Cavalcanti

Luciana Cavalcanti immigrated to New York from Rio de Janeiro at the age of 17, and spent the next 20 years in NYC studying Fashion at Parsons School of Design and photography at The School of Visual Arts. She also studied painting at the Art Students League on 57th street. Living in NYC in the 80s, she immersed herself in the epi center of art and culture, spending time with creative graffiti masters, shopping in The Village flea markets and rubbing elbows with fellow artists like Warhol.

After working in various creative fields in NYC including the fashion industry, Modeling, Jewelry Design & for a still photographer in Bryan Park, she relocated to the Hamptons. She grew up surrounded by the natural beauty of Brazil, and was instinctively drawn to Long Island’s Hamptons, and has been living on the South Fork ever since.  

Her inspiration:  Nature, the cultures of the many countries she’s traveled to, Surf Culture & Color

Her photographic process:  To mimic the painter’s expressive brush.
