We’ll draw a series of timed poses working, with Linda, from a variety of images…..all levels of experience are welcome. JOIN US THIS WEEK FOR LINDA’S TIPS ON DRAWING FEET!Carol is our draped model this week. The Zoom ‘room’ will open at 2 for participants to become familiar with the class format.COVID -19 has taken away our classroom and studio space practices.  Zoom classes are a different  experience than a live lesson.  But in this class you’ll be able to work along with Linda, observing her technique as you draw.
Linda Capello is a classically trained anatomist and master of figure drawing.
In this online format, Linda will demonstrate and participants may observe, draw, or combine the two.  There are a number of different ways to experience this class.  We’ll go over these options in the beginning of the session.Whatever medium you are accustomed to is appropriate.  Linda suggests an 18×24″ newsprint pad (or whatever paper you prefer), soft vine charcoal (or whatever medium you prefer)  and a kneaded eraser in her live classes.

The work above, a 13 x 9 pastel, is by artist Nancy Ness who joined us last week and created this work in her studio afterwards. Linda Capello is a master of figure drawing. A graduate of the Fashion Institute of Technology, she worked in the NYC fashion industry for over twenty years.  She is listed in Who’s Who of American Women, and received the Miriam Russo Enders Award: For Works on Paper, from the National Association of Woman Artists (May 2009), for her red conte drawing “So Inclined”.”All I have ever wanted to do was draw, and all I have ever wanted to draw were people. I am a classically trained anatomist, but instead of the rigid, mechanical representation of muscle, bone and flesh, I look for the subtlety of the line; the strength and sensuality of the thick, thin and lost line. The curve of the neck and arch of the spine speak volumes.” Capello teaches extensively at the Parrish Museum,  The Art Barge, the Southampton Cultural Center, the Golden Eagle in Easthampton and is a member of Southampton Artists.
