As you may be aware, last year my husband John and I opened the art gallery named Gallery Crossing. It is located on Peconic Lane in Peconic, on the North Fork. Peconic Lane is part of the wine trail route and is home to established businesses such as The Winemakers Studio, Spannino’s Bella Vista Vineyard, several B&B’s, along with the new home of the Greenport Brewery.
Gallery Crossing will always have several artists’ works on exhibit. We will change our exhibits every two weeks. This provides our customers with an ever-changing selection of works on display, and a sense of urgency as those works will not be there for long. This will also provide more opportunities for local artists to exhibit.
We would like to offer you the opportunity to exhibit using 25’ of wall space for a two-week period during our 2014 season.
The Gallery:
-The gallery’s 2014 season will be May 22nd thru November 3rd.
-The gallery will be open Thursday thru Monday from 12 to 7pm.
-The gallery is fully attended and will manage all transactions.
-We will provide you with approximately 25’ of dedicated wall space.
-Joanne Rosko will curate each exhibition.
-All artwork on display will be labeled with the artist’s name, price, etc.
-All artists will be featured on our website, and announcements will be made in online events calendars. Promotional material is regularly provided to local vineyards and B&Bs. We have a running ad on the NorthForker events calendar.
Cost:
-There is a $100, non-refundable, hanging fee.
-The artist will receive 70% and the Gallery 30% of all proceeds (after sales tax and any credit card processing fees).
Requirements:
-Wall mounted artwork is preferred but other formats will be considered.
-The artist must submit for consideration 5 photos representative of their work.
-The artist must provide the gallery with their biography, for customer reference.
-The artist must provide the gallery with a list of all works to be exhibited at least one week prior to the exhibit. The list must including the title, price, medium and size of each work, along with the artist’s name.
-Payment of the $100 hanging fee is required in order to reserve a place on our calendar.
-Gallery Crossing reserves the right to control the quantity, quality and content of each exhibit.
Artists Options:
-You may have an opening reception during normal business hours. This would be your responsibility; we do not provide these services.
-You may self promote your exhibit; we simply require that you include the galleries logo, location and contact information.
