Anna Di Turi Franklin always carries with her the love and appreciation of Art in all its expressions through ages, as witnessed in her native country of Italy. Anna came to this country at the age of almost 15, speaking no English, and graduated from Brooklyn College, Cum Laude, with a BA in Spanish.  She went on to Hunter College where she received an MA in Italian.  Anna became a teacher of Foreign Languages and,as such, she studied abroad in Madrid, Nice, Bologna and continued with many other degrees here in the USA.  Her busy life as a teacher kept her from executing her other love, art, but during her sabbaticals, she took art courses and her notebooks, both in college and during her teaching years are filled at the margins with drawings and sketches.

After her retirement from teaching, she immediately engaged full time in art courses and painting.  She has studied art at The Brooklyn Museum and Botanical Garden,Brooklyn College, Kingsborough CC, Florence, Italy and in private studios of notable artists both in NYC and the East End here and Florida.  Starving for all things art, she has taken up many art forms such as stained glass, drawing, watercolor, pottery, acrylic, pastel, etc.  This eclectic background has given her a love for diversity both in mediums and styles as can be seen on her website.  Her innate curiosity propels her to challenge herself to learn new art forms and mediums.  Her love gravitates toward landscapes, flowers, abstract and she finds inspiration in nature and its beauty.  She refuses to limit herself to one style because she wants to be free to express herself wherever her inspiration takes her.

She has received many accolades, written up in local newspapers such as The East Hampton star, The Southampton Press and the Independent, won awards and has exhibited with many galleries in NYC, at Miami Spectrum, Art Hampton, at Naples Antiques, Jewelry and Art Show, in Fort Lauderdale and in many juried shows both in Florida and Long Island.
